Sims 4 Adoption Challenge

The 100 Baby Challenge has never been for me, but it has been brought up to me as something my viewers want to see. Therefore, I am adapting the 100 Baby Challenge: Adoption Edition recently reintroduced by @xChuChyGames on Twitter to my personal preferences. If you’d like to play this version of the challenge with me, you are more than welcome. If you do this challenge, please @ me on twitter (@tashamonetsims) or leave a comment here so I can check it out!

The Rules

  1. Getting Started
    1. Start with a young adult sim
    2. The Sim can have any aspiration/traits. Use whichever ones come with the packs you own. Just note that your sim MUST complete at least three aspirations within their lifetime.
    3. You can have your sim in any career, but the sim MUST start at entry level.
    4. You may use freerealestate on cheat to purchase a home/lot.
    5. You can have your lifespan set to whatever you like. Because I have multiple save files that require a long lifespan and I do not want to mess anything up, I will be playing on the long lifespan.
  2. Adoption
    1. Your starting funds MAY NOT be used to adopt.
    2. All adoptions MUST occur from money earned once working.
    3. Adoptions can occur ONCE every 48 sim hours.
    4. There can only be a total of 7 adopted children in a household at one time (6 if married or with a live-in partner)
    5. Optional: I like variation, and I do not particularly enjoy the baby stage so I am using a wheel decider to determine which life stage and sex I adopt.
    6. Keep names and traits as is. You can adjust last names to make your sim’s, if desired.
  3. Money
    1. However you earn money is up to you, but keep in mind that you must be able to maintain your bills and afford to adopt child
    2. Money cheats ARE NOT allowed.
    3. Teen sims can hold a part time job to earn money to take with them from the household when they age up to young adults. (You can use the Sim Realist’s SNB Bank mod so the money they earn does not go into household funds)
  4. Aging Up
    1. Babies
      1. You cannot age up a baby before the game says it is their birthday.
      2. Try to keep the baby as happy and well-cared for as possible.
    2. Toddlers
      1. Once a baby has aged up to a toddler, randomize their trait (you can hit randomize a total of 3 times. I will be using James Turner’s Random Traits tool for this)
      2. To age up a toddler, they must max one skill (other than potty training) OR one character value.
      3. If you adopted them as a toddler and they come with any of these already, you must develop another one
    3. Children
      1. Once a toddler has aged up to a child, randomize their traits (you can hit randomize a total of 3 times. I will be using James Turner’s Random Traits tool for this)
      2. To age up a child, they must max one skill, one character value, OR complete their childhood aspiration AND have an A in school.
      3. If you adopted them as a child and they come with any of these already, you must develop another one
    4. Teens
      1. Once a child has aged up to a teen, randomize their second trait (you can hit randomize a total of 3 times. I will be using James Turner’s Random Traits tool for this)
      2. To age up a teen, they must max one skill, one character value, OR completed an aspiration AND have an A in school.
      3. If you adopted them as a teen and they come with any of these already, you must develop another one (You cannot adopt teens in the Sims, my bad)
    5. Young Adults
      1. Once a teen has aged up to a young adult, randomize their final trait (you can hit randomize a total of 3 times. I will be using James Turner’s Random Traits tool for this)
      2. To move a young adult out, you MUST be able to provide them $2000 starting funds as well as any other fund they may have earned if they held a part time job. You must also have them get a job and be good friends with them BEFORE moving them out.
      3. It is encouraged that you actually place them somewhere in the world, but it is not required.
    6. Misc.
      1. Modded games are okay. Just make sure that you are not using any mods that adjust the earnings of money.
      2. Adjust the rules and gameplay to match whichever packs you have.
      3. If you have Discover University, you can make the challenge harder by having your Young Adult adopted children go to university and graduate before being able to move out.

However you decide to play the game, be sure to have fun!
